My Story

I’ve been a Registered Dietitian since 2008. I started my career in pediatrics where I worked closely with children with Cystic Fibrosis. I then transition into the wellness and disease management space where I spent years honing my coaching and counseling skills helping individuals navigate behavior change.

In 2013, while completing my Master’s degree at Oklahoma State University, I was exposed to the concepts of Intuitive Eating and was instantly hooked. As my personal intuitive eating journey evolved, so did my professional one. Since then, I have become a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, Certified Mindful Eating Coach and Certified Yoga Instructor.

My passion for helping people heal their relationship with food and body developed as I felt and saw the pervasive effects of living in diet culture. Our society conditions us to doubt, ignore and override our internal feedback and rely on external sources to determine what is best for our bodies. We are also dealing with constant pressures to be thinner and more fit. The combination of body dissatisfaction and lack of trust in our bodies leads to perpetual food noise and feelings that we are never good enough.

Our relationship with food starts at birth meaning all your experiences with food and body have shaped your beliefs and behaviors up to this point. This complex relationship should not be taken lightly. As a trauma-informed mindful eating expert, we safely explore your past with food and body and how it’s impacted your relationship today. The goal is never to create additional pressure around food but to look at the development with non-judgmental curiosity.

How we talk about food, offer food, prepare food, and talk about our bodies not only influences our own relationship with food, but also our little one’s relationship with food. Interestingly enough, all the skills necessary to become an intuitive eater are also highly involved in raising one.

Food and the dining table can be a place of joy and connection, however, for many, that is not that case. If you’re looking to change your relationship with food and body, let’s do so in a way that feels safe and empowering. Learn to connect with your body, re-establish trust and make choices that serve you.

Thank you for being here and allowing me to be a part of your journey.
